I'm a web developer at Nashville Software School, a bootcamp-style vocational school focused on training junior developers. I'm a recent transplant to Nashville, coming by way of Madison, WI and Birmingham, AL. I enjoy learning new technologies and writing clean, test-driven code. When I'm not working on development projects, you can find me on the disc golf course, taking walks with my dog Lucy, or playing a board game with friends.
Bit Blaster is an arcade-style space shooter built with the Phaser.js game engine. I completed Bit Blaster for my capstone project featuring front-end technologies at Nashville Software School. Game assets were created with GIMP. High scores are recorded using Firebase, which is also used to deploy the project. Play the game here. If you can top 50,000 points, you'll get to take on the boss.
During Hack Tennessee, a 48-hour hack-a-thon, our team of designers and full-stack developers created Space Race, a cooperative multiplayer game in which two teams of two race through Earth’s atmosphere. During every game, each team’s engineer builds platforms for their teammate. Each team’s astronaut then traverses those platforms in an attempt to outpace their opponent without falling. The game utilizes a combination of Node, Express, and Eureca.io to manage real-time interaction. Play the game here.
I created Time Logger to help my father’s small business save time and cut down on time-logging errors. The app replaces pen-and-paper time logging with a cloud-based solution that works across an array of devices. Graph-based reports help employees and managers make better business decisions about how their time is spent. Try the app here.
